Deputy Manager

At Cambian, we provide specialist education and behavioural health services for children in the UK.

We’re looking for a Deputy Manager to assist the Registered Manager in achieving our aims and demonstrating Cambian’s values. 

You’ll support and manage staff in line with National Minimum Standards to help meet the needs of the children and young people, as well as working with children and young people directly. 

You’ll take a leading role to ensure that each member of staff is aware of each child’s placement plan and their responsibilities for its implementation. You’ll also attend childcare reviews and planning meetings to help achieve the best outcomes for young people and to create a culture of dignity and inclusion.

You’ll also be involved with the recruitment and retention of staff, including induction training for new staff and supervising new starters during their probationary period to ensure our values are being displayed correctly.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Full and clean driving license

• NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children & Young People of Equivalent

• Desire to work towards obtaining NVQ Level 4

• 12 months of relevant supervisory experience

• Understanding the needs of BESD children, including managing challenging behaviour.

• Awareness of the Children Act, of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues, and other relevant legislation.

• Ability to motivate and enthuse staff

All colleagues bear responsibility to protect and safeguard vulnerable individuals at risk and are required to attend safeguarding awareness training and additional appropriate training whenever required.
